Has anyone heard about the effects of mercury and autism introduced by childhood vaccines?

The preservative, “thimerosal,” that is in many vaccines, including flu shots have a high level of mercury. My wife and I believe that the vaccines our 6 year old had at a young age, caused his autism. The chances that children will be autistic have risen dramatically to 1 in 166 and we believe mercury is the cause. He, at 6 months was very normal until his vaccinations. Yes, I have heard this. There is a site called Epoch Times and one of the writers son is autistic and they believe it’s from vaccines. From time to time, the author writes a chapter in the “health” section. It’s very sad. I believe the family was actually using a hyperbaric chamber (like the ones they use to relieve divers of “the bends”) and it was somewhat successful.
My kids are more than two and a half and don’t talk so I’m worried too.
I think the vaccines are causing Autism and no one will step up to the plate and say it is true. There needs to be a huge class action against the drug companies and the government before it will stop. I am so thankful that my two are fine but so many people I know have children with Autism. Much more were diagnosed in the 80′s or 90′s. That is strange! There is something for sure going on with these vaccines!
