Military In the movie Saving private Ryan why does the captain’s hand tremor so much?
Gabe
They keep asking him if he’s alright, and giving him weird looks for his hand shaking so much. Why did it do that?
My hand does that too very often which is why im wondering, although it might be different.

The stress and pressure of keeping the men in his command safe was eating at his nerves.
in the film it was either an early sign of parkinson or maybe nerve damage, if you are worried i would go to a doctor to get it checked out.
a guy i used to work with had the shakes really bad and this was due to nerve damage to his hand.
It is one of the bodies reactions to stress! and believe me he must have been very stressed!
It’s called a lot of things, but let’s keep it simple. Shock. Emotional, physical shock. Quite common among people who have been shelled by artillery, and also have watched many of their men get blown to pieces.
That movie was dead-on accurate about the horrors of Omaha beach.
That’s the stress of combat sinking in. Reality doesn’t hit you when your under fire. You’re scared, tired, and in shock. Your training takes over. Once that’s over you get to “think” about what you’ve just did snuffing out lives. It’s not an easy thing to stomach.
The producer was trying to make it look more realistic. He was suffering from shell shock. Don’t believe that movie. The beach landings was the only part that entire movie that wasn’t Hollywood.
Is this really a question? Shock, nervousness, pressure, stress, COMBAT.
