My boyfriend has been getting tremors, what could be causing it?

My boyfriend said for the past few days he has been getting tremors, his whole body will start to shake and it will last a few minutes.
no it’s not a shiver, or a seizure.
he is 19 years old, and has no known medical conditions.
what can cause tremors?
There are many possibilities. Does he consume a lot of alcohol or sugar? How do you know that he doesn’t have a seizure disorder? Has that been checked? The tremors that you know about might not be seizures, but tremors can be a precursor.
