hdhoney03,
There are a few things it could be, essential tremor being just one of them. Don't worry, some tremors are nothing at all. I can't get your yahoo ID by clicking on your name so if you want to send me an email at cknholidayhomes@hotmail.com I will gladly answer

Im not sure what it is but if your friend does find out something could your write down my yahoo ID and send me a message. I have a friend whos son does this and hes only 4. His head looks like a bobble head when he does it and we always thought it was kinda cute cause he does it most when he gets excited while talking. If theres something more too it though id like to tell her about it. She doesnt have insurance so she cant afford to take him to the doctor or specialist unless its something serious... I hope its not to serious for your friend but she should definitely get checked out by more than one doc for opinion purposes. Good Luck To her.

Ronibug,
I got the impression from the poster that their friend had already been given the diagnosis as they did say the doctor said the condition was hereditary and could get worse. I think they were just wanting a little bit of info on the condition

Don't accept answers from strangers on this site. This is a very serious malady and needs a thorough exam by a neurologist. Always get 2nd & 3rd opinions. It may be familial tremors then again, it may not be. Keep going until she finds someone who can give her relief.

A friend of mine has tremors in his hands, I have known him almost 15 years and they have not gotten worse. They did get a little better when he cut back on the caffeine.

She has a condition called Essential Tremor. Her side to side head shake is the classic No-No shake. Not everyone with Essential Tremor has a head tremor but those who do fall into 2 categories and have either a distinctive No-No tremor or a Yes-Yes tremor. It is mainly hereditary but not always, hereditary tremor is more oftenly called Familial Tremor.
There are quite a few drugs that can help and if one doesn't agree she should ask to try another.
When I was diagnosed I searched the internet but found very little info related to E.T. so I decided to build a website that offered easy to understand information. The site has developed through both my own efforts and input from members. We have a little experiment running at the minute relating to Essential Tremor and inability to absorb Vitamin B12.
Check the site out if you have a minute
