This is just a little part of my book.
I took another step. Cinkle. Another step. Crinkle. Another step. Crinkle. And another. Crinkle. I was suddenly hovering right over the body. I looked back at the group, and they seemed miles away. They were barely visible behind the black blanket of darkness.
I realized I was alone. They were there, but I was alone. I looked down again at the body, and realized not a tremor of movement. I started to think it was dead, but knew it wasn’t. The body was too beautiful to be dead.
I stuck out my hand which floated over the man’s body. His skin looked so pale against mine. The contrast was astonishing. I stuck my index finger forward, and curled my others into a fist. I bent my knees. My finger went further down towards the body, swooshing air in front of it.
Finally my finger touched the bare open skin. It sunk in leaving a ripple. The layer of skin was freezing cold, like the feeling of death, like it was death. Nothing happened. I looked back towards the group. Then I put my whole hand on the body and rocked it just a little. I suddenly felt a muscles tense. I threw my hand back as if I woken the dead.
The body shifted beneath my feet. Suddenly the man jumped to his feet in the blink of an eye. No knees bent, no hand touch the ground for support, he just flew up into the air. He stared directly into my eyes. I stared back.
My breathe stopped. I grasped for air without moving. My mouth fell open as my chest caved in and out. He continued to stare deeply into my eyes, into my soul. I stood there shaking for a breathe of air.
His face suddenly turned to a grimace. He opened his mouth wide, and let out the loudest, the most screeching scream. It screeched my ears, and tore at the drums.
He rose his hands into the air as if he was pray to the gods. Suddenly everything around us was levitating in thin air. The leaves were flying the branches were spiraling, and the trees were swaying. The wind picked up and blew around in circles. My hair swooshed parallel to the ground on the left side of my face.
He continued to scream as the objects around us blew in circles. He was doing this I knew. His telekinetic ability was at its best.
I finally got in my breathe air as it brushed past me in fast waves. I looked back at him. His open mouth hung wide, and the wind blowing through his hair making it a wild mess.
I got my body to stiffen. I walked forward trying to fight the direction of wind. I was directly face to face with him now. I reached my hands up to his face. His face fit perfectly in mine. His cheeks rested in my fingers and palm. “Relax. I’m not here to hurt you.”
I felt his cheek muscles lessen. “Stop this. You Don’t need this for protection.”
He brought his arms down to his side, and instantly the wind stopped. The objects that were once flying around in a circular orbit were now lying gently on the nighttime ground. He stopped screaming, and everything was back to normal.
I still had my hands around his face. I looked deep into his eyes as he did before to mine. I began to smile, and he copied.
